BookMastery.in ("BookMastery," "we," "us") provides an online study platform. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's handled, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

Account information: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form).
Study activity: your quiz answers, spaced-repetition scheduling data, which topic you last viewed in each book, and engagement streak data (how many consecutive days you've studied).
Purchase information: subscription plan, amount paid, payment status, and expiry date. Payment card and UPI details are handled entirely by our payment processor, Razorpay -- we never see or store your card or bank details ourselves.
Technical data: your IP address is used briefly, in memory, to prevent abuse (rate limiting) -- it is not stored in our database.

What we don't currently do

We do not currently use any third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy first.

Who we share data with

Razorpay -- to process payments.
Resend -- to deliver account emails (verification, password reset).
Render and Neon -- our hosting and database providers, who store data on our behalf under their own security practices.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, for any purpose.

How long we keep your data

We retain your account and study data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at the email below.

Your rights

Under Indian data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at anonymoushuntr7@gmail.com.

Children

BookMastery is intended for users capable of entering into a binding agreement under Indian law. If you believe a child has provided us personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will address it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
